The firm, on an annual basis, plays host to over 200 matriculants from previously disadvantaged communities who aspire to be lawyers. This event is modeled as a career guidance platform which seeks to orientate the learners with the dynamics of the legal profession inter alia University requirements for enrolment, career opportunities, the difference between legal officials e.g attorneys and advocates and a basic overview of the legal industry.
Successful legal professionals such as Senior Attorneys, Senior Advocates, Legal Advisors and Legal Managers from various entities are invited to deliver keynote addresses that seek to steer the learners in the course they must follow.
The ultimate goal of hosting the event would be to motivate the learners to join the legal profession and more importantly to encourage them to make the right choices in as far as their career path is concerned.
Our firm is concerned with making a tangible difference in the society within which it operates. We continuously demonstrate our willingness and commitment to support our community in a meaningful manner by seeking opportunities to provide pro-bono work. We encourage our staff to participate in all manner of community service activities and to take up at least three pro bono matters every quarter. We take seriously our responsibility to the communities in which we live and work, and we are committed to being a good corporate citizen.
In our bid to meet our clients at their points of need, we constantly travel long distances for meetings, court appearances or negotiation proceedings on behalf of our clients.
We believe in justice for all and that community service is a critical component of our profession and an important factor in establishing our true excellence as a law firm.
Teen Moms Workshop
In an effort to plow back into our communities as well as make a difference in young lives, the firm hosts teenage mothers who have dropped out of school and feel discouraged. We consider it necessary to host them for a day with the view to encourage them to not only start dreaming again but also to go back to school in order to carve a better future for themselves as well as their babies.
Our firm regularly makes financial contributions to various non-profit organizations that contribute significantly to the educational sector. Amongst them are: Pearl Edu Vision which is a non-profit entity that seeks to contribute to the improvement of schools in their quest to become high-performance learning environments through the transformation of school cultures and by providing programmes that provide exposure, promote self-development, increase access to opportunities, and promote dynamism in educators.
We also donate to the Lundi Gadla education foundation, whose sole object is to provide bursaries and scholarships to its beneficiaries to fund their higher education at higher education institutions.
